Donchian’s 20 Guides to Trading Commodities By Barbara S.Dixon
In 1970, Ms. Dixon started working on Wall Street at a company called Hayden Stone, which subsequently changed its name to Shearson Lehman Brothers, where she was promoted to Managing Director. As a money manager, she specializes in trading futures (CTA). She published a weekly market letter for Shearson Lehman clients, managed many commodity funds, and gave lectures on the futures markets in the US, London, and Tokyo. In 1992, Mrs. Dixon departed Lehman and then left Wall Street after a short stint at Smith Barney. In addition to being a trustee of the Futures Industry Institute, Mrs. Dixon has held positions on the boards of the New York Futures Exchange, FINEX, and the National Association of Futures Trading Advisors. Before being enticed to trading, Mrs. Dixon, a history major and Vassar College alumna, thought about pursuing a career in urban planning. She is now the Vice Chairman of New Yorkers for Parks, a research and advocacy group that advocates for the importance of well-planned, well-maintained parks in New York City, after leaving Wall Street. Mrs. Dixon resides on the 260-acre Manatuck property in Stonington, Connecticut, as well as Manhattan.
