In 2007, while I was Dr. Elder’s guest lecturer at one of his traders’ camps in the Dominican Republic, the Catching Trend Reversals video was shot. Upthrusts and springs are examples of trend reversals. “You can make a living trading springs and upthrusts” is the first thing I say whenever I talk about trading and chart reading. The core of the Wyckoff technique is trading these setups. It entails placing trades where the risk is lowest and the opportunity for profit is highest. In-depth analyses of springs and upthrusts on stock and futures charts—across all time periods—are included in this video.
The regions of a chart with the highest trade frequency are covered in another segment of the movie. Finding trades is like catching fish, in my opinion. Anybody who has ever gone fishing in a freshwater lake knows that the fish are usually found near the shore. The same is true with trading. The majority of them are found along the trading ranges’ boundaries. Because of its useful content, this film is highly praised and frequently re-played by most consumers.
What Alex has to say is this:
One of today’s most serious, imaginative, and seasoned analysts is David. It is an experience that transforms everyone who has taken his lesson. You will always be drawing “David Weis lines” on your charts after taking a lesson with David. These lines indicate the points at which downtrends fade and reappear and uptrends run out of steam and turn down.
David is a traditional market analyst and trader who keeps an eye on the intensity or shallowness of the volume bars, the height of price ranges, and support and resistance zones.
In our Traders’ Camps, David has been one of the most well-liked instructors. When he refused to write the book we had been requesting for years, we requested permission to send a film team to a camp and record his lecture. Four DVDs, each lasting little less than an hour, have been meticulously edited from this film. You can watch the DVDs from beginning to end and jump to any chapter that piques your attention thanks to their outstanding quality and visible tables of contents.
