To show how a small man can take a small sum of money and make it into a large nest egg, Bob Buran became one of the very few trading system providers in 1992 to post his own trading account statements over a six-year period.
Bob started trading futures contracts in the 1980s when he was employed full-time as a school psychologist in Redlands, California, with the goal of finding a “quick way to retire fast.” Bob started researching and creating basic trading strategies after being inspired by Larry Williams. Bob had a “lightbulb moment” in 1985 that inspired him to create a trading strategy that he felt would provide him with the returns he desired. He began trading this strategy in January 1985 with roughly $6,000. By the end of the year, he had made almost $90,000. Before he even purchased his first computer, he made over a quarter million dollars in profits over the course of the following year and a half. By 1988, he was making enough money on his own to quit his position at school and pursue trading full-time. Without pyramiding, he was able to increase his initial $6,000 in trading gains to over half a million dollars over the course of the following five years.
Bob is not a rookie when it comes to trading huge quantities of managed money, even though his passion and “trading roots” still lie in the successful and efficient trading of small accounts. He has had a significant impact on the creation of trading strategies for high-volume traders in Europe and the US.
