This book doesn’t waste time with filler—Chick gets straight to the point, revealing how to win, lose, and avoid losing it all in futures trading. In the opening chapter, he aims to shake off those who aren’t mentally prepared for the challenges of trading, but once you’re past that, it’s full of solid content.
Speaking from personal experience, applying his hard-earned strategies has resulted in consistent profits for me. However, whenever I stray from the principles laid out and rely on gut instincts instead, I usually end up giving back a chunk of those gains—often half—which is frustrating, but part of the learning journey.
I frequently revisit certain parts of the book to really internalize the key lessons—especially pages 55–58 on Money Management and pages 77–80 on Trading Techniques. This book offers real, actionable value—far more practical than many older trading books or the flashy advice from so-called “market gurus.”
