Profitable Patterns for Stock Trading
by Larry Pesavento (Author)
The Fibonacci Summation series has been used and abused so extensively over the last 20 years that pundits on the country’s TV business channels are now resident experts. I don’t claim to be an authority. However, I have done a lot of research on Fibonacci numbers, particularly in relation to trading. I’ve always had the practical stance that I wasn’t interested in continuing my education if I couldn’t use what I was learning to aid in trading. It will have been worth introducing you to the topic if this information can pique your interest in it.
Anyone who has ever traded using technical charts will find the pattern recognition methodology described in the essay interesting. Few others have studied patterns as thoroughly as I have, I can say with confidence. A few of the citations are from the early 1900s.
The foundation of each of these patterns is proportion and ratio. All that a technical chart is is a road map with time and price axes. There is a high degree of regularity in these patterns. A few of my top pupils have gone on to become airline pilots. They appear to follow a flight plan and approach trading similarly to how they approach flying. There are many parallels to trading.
Lastly, introducing you to ancient geometry is one of my objectives in authoring this book. An essential component of the numbers that comprise the topic of their cosmic origins are the Fibonacci numbers. I won’t go into great detail about my experiences with astro-harmonics research. It’s too big a topic for me to cover here. More significantly, profitable trading does not require it.
