About the Author
Gunnar Bårdsen
Senior Advisor at Norges Bank (the Central Bank of Norway) and Associate Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. His academic work spans macroeconomics, monetary policy, and both theoretical and applied econometrics, with numerous published papers in these fields.
Øyvind Eitrheim (b. 1958)
Director of Research at Norges Bank since 2001, previously leading the Model Building Unit from 1996 to 2001. He served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of California, San Diego (1990–1991) and has been with Norges Bank since January 1984. His research and publications cover macroeconomics, monetary economics, and econometric theory and applications.
Eilev S. Jansen (b. 1948)
Director at the Central Bank of Norway and Professor at the Department of Economics, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Trondheim. His earlier roles include heading the Model Building Unit (1983–1988) and serving as Director of Research (1988–2001) at Norges Bank. He has been a Visiting Scholar at the London School of Economics (1975–1976), University of California (1992–1993, 2003–2004), and the European Central Bank in Frankfurt (2003). His affiliations also include work at the University of Oslo’s Department of Economics (1972–1977, 2001–2002) and Statistics Norway (1978–1982). Jansen has contributed to international journals and books, and co‑authored The Econometrics of Incomplete Time‑Series/Cross‑Section Data with Erik Biorn.
Ragnar Nymoen (b. 1957)
Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Oslo, with published research in macroeconomics and econometrics. From 1985 to 1996, he was an economist in the Research Department at the Central Bank of Norway.
