About the Author
Andrew W. Lo is the Harris & Harris Group Professor of Finance at MIT Sloan School of Management and director of MIT’s Laboratory for Financial Engineering. His other works include The Econometrics of Financial Markets, A Non-Random Walk Down Wall Street, and Hedge Funds: An Analytic Perspective. He is also founder and chief scientific officer of AlphaSimplex Group, LLC, a quantitative investment management firm.
Jasmina Hasanhodzic is a research scientist at AlphaSimplex Group, where she designs quantitative strategies and benchmarks such as the CS 130/30 Index. She holds a PhD from MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, where she developed new methods for automating technical analysis and replicating hedge fund betas. Her research has been published in the Journal of Investment Management and Institutional Investor’s Alpha. A summa cum laude graduate of Yale, she has received multiple awards for academic achievement and is a member of honor societies including Sigma Xi.
