Vertical Spreads by Charles Cottle: A Strategy-Intensive
The creator of the professional trading application Risk Doctor is Charles Cottle. He was the International Trading Institute’s director of instruction and a former CBOE and CBOT options trader. Cottle is credited with creating DARTS (Dynamic Adjustable Risk Transactions) and has provided a range of training packages since 1999, including Thinkorswim.
Context
Before joining the International Trading Institute as a director and working with market makers, brokers, and early electronic programmers, Cottle started trading on the CBOE and CBOT in 1981. He released “Options: Perception and Deception” in 1995, which served as the foundation for his upcoming training programs. He co-founded his first program, Thinkorswim, a brokerage and education company, in 1999. In 2004, he went on to establish DARTS. He produced Riskllustrated, a visually appealing webinar, in 2005.
Learning
In 1979, Cottle graduated with a B.S. from Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado at Boulder.
