Meet Jonathan Rose — Owner and Active Day Trader
Jonathan Rose began his trading career in 1998 on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where he was a pioneer in computer-based trading and a key contributor to the liquidity of the emerging Globex market. After five years trading Nasdaq Futures, he joined a technology-focused Fixed Income trading firm.
From 2003 to 2010, Jonathan served as one of four Senior Partners at a proprietary trading firm in Chicago. Starting as the firm’s 6th employee, he rose to Director of Futures Trading, managing proprietary trading operations, leading a team of over 15 traders, and overseeing the performance of more than 60 traders on the trading floor. He personally trained over 30 traders in all aspects of Fixed Income trading.
Between 2010 and 2013, Jonathan was an Equity Options Market Maker on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), managing an active portfolio of 100+ stocks.
Since 2014, Jonathan has been part of a private Family Office Hedge Fund in the Chicago suburbs, where he helped design and implement a pairs trading investment strategy focusing on Closed-End Funds. He also supports various other investment strategies and business development initiatives within the firm.
Jonathan graduated with a B.S. from the University of Miami in 1997 and is a Level 2 CFA candidate (2015). Outside of trading, he’s an endurance athlete who completed the Madison Ironman in 2011 and four marathons over the last four years. He enjoys spending time with his wife, two boys, and playing guitar.
